You've chosen to shave the old-fashioned way and sharpening the straight razor is an important rule that we don't often think about. Simple and quick, this step should not be forgotten, otherwise your blade may not like it too much.

Ideally the straight razor should be passed before and after each use on the sharpening leather.

✅ A GOOD MAINTENANCE FOR YOUR PRAWBERRY

For your straight razor to hold up well, you will need sharpening leather. The blade must not be struck on the leather and must not be subjected to pressure. Only the weight of the straight razor will suffice. To maintain the razor edge, simply slide your blade up and down.

✅ WHAT ARE THE BOTH SIDES OF THE SHARPENING LEATHER FOR?

On each side of the sharpening leather belt, there are two sides. One that will be gentle and will allow you to prepare the blade before each shave. About ten round trips will suffice to heat the blade slightly and thus make the shave morepleasant and effective. This step will also keep a good razor edge.

The other side allows you to re-sharpen the razor. To do this, you will need to coat your leather with sharpening paste (razor paste).
